About Us

Against All Odds Horsemanship is a introductory program dedicated to the wonderful world of Equus Caballus. Our goal is to help individuals realize their love for horses regardless of their age and to teach them the basic principles involved with handling and working around horses.

Many times, horses can uncover and magnify our hidden insecurities, so here at Against All Odds Horsemanship we also wish to explore how horse, rider, and trainer can use challenges and setbacks as an opportunity for personal growth.

Not only is our program about horse therapy, horse training, and horse behavior, it's about the transformations that await us when we embrace our own personal sufferings. But most importantly, it's about what these magnificent creatures are patiently and silently teaching us.

What We Hope To Achieve

Against All Odds Horsemanship encourages all equestrians and their equid counterparts to feel welcome, wanted, and relaxed no matter where they are or what discipline they ride. Whether you fly over fences in a show ring or stroll along the scenic route on a trail ride, we want to abolish the English vs. Western mentalities and inspire all horse-loving individuals to cooperate and cohabitate.

"Our sport is hard enough -

let's encourage and inspire one another."

Against All Odds Horsemanship is fairly new to the Anderson County area. In March of 2018, we purchased a property that allowed us to plant some permanent roots and begin offering our services to the area but unfortunately, the property that we purchased was unable to house our needs.

But we aren't called "Against All Odds" for nothing! We are here and ready to build and ultimately make a difference in our community! We have been granted a wonderful opportunity to train and offer our services at our home farm here in Iva, SC and we can't wait to see where this journey will take us!

We still need a ton of fencing materials to build our pastures, as well as build additional amenities on the property and begin construction of our arena. We would love to build a round pen and construct an obstacle course in the near future, but all in due time. In addition to materials to build our facility, we need the love and support of the local community and local horse lovers to make our programs into what we know they can be!

While Against All Odds Horsemanship may not be a fancy facility with all the usual offerings, we have to start somewhere and nothing is better than a blank slate. If you would like to join to AAOH family or learn how you can help us build, please contact Becky at AgainstAllOddsHorsemanship@gmail.com.

Meet The Trainer
Rebecca Bezuyen

It all started with a pony ride as a 3-year-old girl. For the next five years, if she was asked, "What do you want to be when you grow up?", she would always answer, "A horseback rider". After her mother did some deep thinking and realized this answer was not changing, AAOH's founder and owner Rebecca was able to start on her horse journey by taking horseback riding lessons in 1998.

In 2003, Rebecca's family moved to Florida and in 2004, she officially became a horse owner. For the years that followed, Rebecca met and introduced many people to the world of horses, people that otherwise felt as if their lives were falling apart. After one ride, she would see changes in these people that were phenomenal and the decision was made that "when she grew up," she was going to help all kinds of people through the healing powers of horses.

Granted, the dream has been altered and tweaked over the years from owning a grand hunter jumper facility to being a small, introductory program, but when you deal with as many horses and people as Rebecca has over the years, there are always new stories about horses, humans, and the partnerships formed between the two that have lead to her decision for AAOH be what it is today - a place where everyone is welcome and every style of riding is encouraged.

Over the years, Rebecca has gained experience from Hunter/Jumper facilities in Upstate New York- such as Willow Hill Farm, The Stables at MiraBella, and Greystone Stables - as well as barns and stables in Ocala, FL - such as Hidden Lark Farm and Hunter's Edge Equestrian Center. Her most memorable experiences were those gained at Fox Lea Farm while she worked for Clay Farrell and at Riding Star Ranch where she was the barn manager and riding instructor for four years.
